Nytt citat från The Last Hours serien, denna gång om Tessa och Will som åldrande och hur deras son James ser på saken.

New TLH Quote. This time concerning the ageing Tessa and Will as seen by their son James.

James could see his mother moving like an anxious pale star among the guests in her lilac dress, greeting each of them warmly, welcoming them to her home. She had not glamoured herself to look her husband’s age for the evening, and she appeared enormously young, though her hair was done up like a gracious older woman’s, not a girl’s. When Will materialized out of the crowd and came to put his arm around Tessa, smiling down at her, the gray at his temples flashed like silver. James looked away; he loved his parents for being extraordinary, but sometimes he also hated them for the same thing.

När jag ändå är i farten slänger jag in ett par citat från Lady Midnight, den första boken i kommande The Dark Artifices serien.

While I’m at it I’m trowing in a couple of snippets from Lady Midnight, the first book in the upcoming The Dark Artifices series.

Emma swallowed. She was remembering Julian, two years ago, standing in the overlapping circles of fire where the parabatai ritual was performed. The look on his face as they each stepped into the central circle and the fire rose up around them, and he unbuttoned his shirt to let her touch the stele to his skin and carve the rune that would bind them together for their whole lives. She knew if she just reached out now, she could touch it, touch the rune cut into his shoulder, the rune she had put there …

Mark whirled on them. His eyes were blind, unseeing. “You bring the twins in front of me and you kill them over and over. My Ty, he doesn’t understand why I can’t save him. You bring me Dru and when she laughs to see the fairytale castle, all ringed round with hedges, you throw her against the thorns until their pierce her small body. And you bid me wash in Octavian’s blood for the blood of an innocent child is magic under the Hill.

Det har kommit ytterligare två smygtittar från den kommande The Shadowhunter’s Codex. En är anteckningar som Clary gjort efter att ha läst Codexen och en text av Magnus Bane varför folk blir skuggjägare.

There are two new sneek peaks at the upcoming Shadowhunter’s Codex, published. One is notes that Clary made after reading the Codex and one is the text Why Do People Become Shadowhunters by Magnus Bane.

Vi har fått ta del av ett nytt citat från nästa del av The Bane Chronicles som kallas The Last Stand of the New York Institute. Detta citat publicerades av Sarah Rees Brennar som skrivit e-novellen tillsammans med Cassandra Clare.

“He was curled up on the sofa with Tessa, and they were watching a video of Pride and Prejudice. Tessa was complaining at some length about how the book had been better.
“This is not what Jane Austen would have wanted,” Tessa told him. “If she could see this, I am certain she would be horrified.”
“If she could see this,” said Magnus, “I assume that she would be screaming “There are tiny demons in this little box! Fetch a clergyman!’ and hitting the television with her parasol.”

Sarah Rees Brennar shared a snippet from the next Bane Chronicle e-novella, called The Last Stand of the New York Institute.

Cassandra Jean drew this picture of Simon, Tessa and Magnus. It’s inspired by a Death Cab song “What Sarah said” were the line Love is watching someone die is included. How true and sad.
